If I Fall in Love explores the theme of recovery from psychological abuse and it’s drawn from the experiences of my own past, having had to deal with an abusive ex. In exploring this theme, I’ve conceived the tune as a hopeful song that aims to show solidarity with the countless other women who have had to undergo the same dark life experiences I have but highlighting the message that it’s possible to escape, be free and live true love again.
