Stan Sulzmann keeps creating. He told me during lockdown that in addition to writing charts, he would be doing some “online virtual/ YouTube type projects from home so I can record myself.” He made two of these in lockdown (links below), and has done a third during the past few months which have been a period of convalescence. It is a celebration of nature based on photos by Nick Smart, and has just been put out on YouTube. Stan writes about it:
“GAMBIA is the new virtual YouTube in the ‘On The Hill’ series. This one celebrates the wonderful bird photography of Nick Smart whilst on a trip to Gambia in 2016. In an attempt to stray off the beaten path, I worked with club DJ, electronic music producer and son, Ian Sulzmann who sound-designed the electronic touches and flourishes. The track features a little writing from me and performances from Nick Smart, in his real life role as jazz trumpeter along with special guest John Parricelli , guitarist extraordinaire . It was great fun to make , a joy to see the photos and we hope you will enjoy both the music and pictures.”
