“Following a year of internal changes to determine the future vision for the charity, we can happily confirm the arrival of a brand-new Chief Executive and an exciting team of Music Directors that will make up our refreshed London Academy set-up for 2021 and beyond.” In its Press Release issued today 26 April 2021, NYJO is announcing a series of changes:
- NYJO is moving into “our first permanent home” at Woolwich Works, alongside other cultural organisations: Chineke! Orchestra, Luca Silvestrini’s Protein, Punchdrunk and the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair.
- A new CEO Susie York Skinner will start in the role on 1 July. Her most recent role has been as Director of Development at the Academy of St Martin in the Fields.
- Nigel Tully MBE who has been Executive Chair for more than a decade steps down from the executive role and stays as Chair of the Trustees. He writes: “After combining the roles of CEO and Chair of the NYJO Board for 12 years, I am absolutely delighted to be handing over the role of CEO to Susie York Skinner. It’s a great time for a fresh approach, and with her wealth of experience Susie will bring exactly that. I look forward enormously to NYJO’s continuing progress under her leadership, and will do everything I can to help and support her as Chair of NYJO.”
- The team of Music Directors is expanded with five new names, and other names will be added (more detail here)
