Letter One Rising Stars have announced their award winners:
American saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins and Israeli trumpeter Itamar Borochov respectively are the winners of Letter One’s North American and European awards. The announcement was made during a virtual ceremony broadcast on Saturday 6 February by WBGO, hosted by Jamie Cullum. LINK TO FACEBOOK VIDEO. Past recipients of the RISING STARS Jazz Award include Sasha Berliner, Giveton Gelin, Tom Ibarra, Adrien Brandeis and Kathrine Windfeld

– Jury prize for the best musician: Brazilian vocalist Camila Ronza. (Video above)
– Second Prize: saxophonist Alex Hitchcock
– Third Prizes: Aubrey Logan feat. Hagelslag (from Hannover in Germany)
– Canadian trumpeter Rachel Therrien
Under 25 Category
– Jury prize for best Under 25: Italian pianist Tommaso Perazzo
– Second Prize to the band NAUSYQA
– Third Prize: Spanish band Chai Masters
– Honorable mentions: Italian trumpeter Davide Battista and Indonesian guitarist Daniel Dyonisius.
